Field learning meets global curiosity in Lower Silesia.

MIRORES CEO Dr. Jakub Ciążela recently played a key role in the international geology field trip, „Upper Paleozoic Rocks of Western Poland,” leading Days 2 and 3 of this immersive five-day research experience. The event was co-organized by the Polish and Romanian chapters of the AAPG Student Chapters Society in collaboration with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, coordinated by Wojciech Stawikowski.

Dr. Ciążela guided participants through more than a dozen significant geological outcrops across Lower Silesia, with a special focus on the Central Sudetic Ophiolite and its associated mineral resources.

Field Highlights Included:

🔹 Exploration of mantle peridotites and crustal sections of ancient oceanic lithosphere
🔹 Identification of hydrothermal alterations in oceanic sediment layers
🔹 Visits to former mining sites of ilmenite, nickel, turquoise, and chrysoprase

The intensive 12-hour field sessions didn’t dampen enthusiasm. In fact, energy ran high as students and researchers stayed late into the evening to attend Dr. Ciążela’s in-depth lecture,
“Insight into the Oceanic Lithosphere and Its Polymetallic Deposits.”

This event not only highlighted Poland’s rich geological landscape, but also the increasing international interest in its mineralogical potential. For MIRORES, it was another opportunity to bridge scientific exploration with future-focused resource identification technologies.
