The SPARK-funded project focuses on adapting the MIRORES far-IR spectrometer for crucial applications, including conveyor belts, portable handheld devices, and rovers. These applications will enable precise and efficient in-situ detection of mineral resources, streamlining mining processes and enhancing both terrestrial and space resource exploration.

The MIRORES technology targets sulfide and oxide minerals, which host crucial metals such as nickel, cobalt, iron, copper, titanium, and platinum group elements. These metals are vital for the clean energy transition, supporting the development of renewable technologies like wind turbines, solar panels, and electric vehicle batteries, which are essential for a sustainable future.

MIRORES IRIS

Revolutionizing
On-Site Mineral
Detection

Our newest product, MIRORES IRIS, is a versatile spectrometer designed for use in laboratories, on rovers, or as a portable handheld device (as shown here). Its compact size, achieved by reducing the effective focal length to 50 cm, and durable construction make it an ideal tool for geologists and engineers conducting real-time, on-site ore mineral analysis. By integrating advanced far-IR spectrometry technology into a mobile form, MIRORES IRIS is set to transform exploration missions both on Earth and in space, delivering critical insights exactly where they are needed. It can also be used to intrapolate our MIRORES EARTH device operating on drones (see ESA TT project. Proposal number 1-2024/08 funded in Call ESA Spark Funding Poland #1-2024).
