The recent SpaceShield Summit, reported by TVP Rzeszów, served as a strategic platform to discuss the rapid evolution of the Polish space industry and its growing impact on both global exploration and national security.

As Poland celebrates its 10th anniversary as a member of the European Space Agency (ESA), the summit highlighted how Polish technology is moving from ground-based research to critical roles in lunar and deep-space missions.

A decade of polish excellence in ESA

During the event, industry experts noted that Poland is no longer just a participant, but a key provider of space infrastructure.

„Our country has belonged to the European Space Agency – ESA for 10 years. Our telescopes are going to the moon, our robotic arms are used in ESA missions, and our electronics infrastructure is already being implemented in the largest space projects,” noted Maciek Myśliwiec during the summit.

Mapping the moon: The 2029 HRMMM Mission

A focal point of the discussion was the upcoming ESA High-resolution Lunar Mineralogy Mapper (HRMMM) mission, scheduled for 2029. MIRORES is proud to be a part of this milestone, providing the specialized spectrometer payload designed to identify raw materials on the lunar surface.

Jakub Ciążela, CEO of MIRORES, provided technical insight into how this technology bridges the gap between science and industry:

„The MIRORES spectrometer examines how different minerals absorb sunlight based on the spectrum we observe. By analyzing the medium and far-infrared (mid/far-IR) spectrum, we can understand exactly what minerals are present on the Moon. Knowing the mineral composition is the key to identifying the raw materials available for future use.”

Space technology as a pillar of security

The summit also addressed the dual-use nature of space technology. Experts emphasized that space capabilities are now the cornerstone of modern national security. From satellite support to advanced sensors, a strong presence in orbit is essential for building national sovereignty and reducing strategic risks.

At MIRORES, we are proud that our geological and technological solutions are becoming a strategic part of this puzzle, supporting both the future of space mining and the security of our planet.
